Checking in With One of Our Favorite Families: Gunner & Lux

Checking in With One of Our Favorite Families: Gunner & Lux

John and Riley, we are so thrilled to feature you again on The Bird Feed. We’ve been following your story since Riley was barely walking and now, she’s all grown up! For those that are new
to your story, can you give us a little background on how your jewelry company, Gunner & Lux
came to life?
Riley began selling some of her charms at her summer lemonade stand when she was
five years old. We then created our own website, and soon after Riley’s jewelry was
being sold in stores all around the world. Riley actually hired me (her dad) after 2 years
in business as her first full time employee!

You recently shared that you moved your family from Georgia to Maine. That’s a big change, how has your family adjusted?

We have loved the move so much. We were looking for a way to slow
everything down. Get out of the city. Enjoy being outside more. The actual move
was not easy! LOL

For your new collections, where do you find inspiration?

We have always thought of our jewelry as empowering accessories for play,
fashion, and gifting. So, with those things in mind, I am always looking at how we
can create new jewelry that works with our younger kids and our teens that have
grown with us. Things like our new adjustable Signet Ring, a new lighthouse that
glows in the dark, inspired by all the lighthouses here in Maine.

With Riley growing up and almost a teenager now, how has her style evolved with the brand?

Riley says:
“I keep experimenting with new brands and lots of vintage. I love vintage
sweatshirts! I do have some heels, but can’t wear them out of the house.
I want my style to always be fun and colorful just like Gunner & Lux.”

We noticed that you are very passionate about environmental and social challenges in the world, can you tell us some of the initiatives that are close to your heart?

If you follow us on our Instagram, we talk and post a lot about what is going on in
the world. From LGBTQ+ rights, Black Lives Matter, Women’s rights, and much
more, We often donate proceeds to the Trevor Project, Human Rights Campaign,
National Forest Foundation, and work with Girls Inc with our Strong, Smart, Bold
Necklace.

What’s new for Gunner & Lux? Any new exciting collaborations or launches we should be looking out for?

Our New Summer Collection is out soon. With 2 Maine inspired Necklaces.
