Made for little moments
Little Birdies opened its doors on Wisconsin Avenue in the heart of Georgetown in 2013 with a simple idea: that gifting a new baby should feel as special as the moment itself. What began as a single Georgetown storefront grew into a beloved DC institution, recognized as Best Children's Store in D.C. by Washingtonian magazine and Washington City Paper, and later expanding to locations in Tysons Galleria, the luxury Northern Virginia mall and the historic neighborhood of Old Town Alexandria.
Along the way, we launched Pineapple Sunshine, our in-house children's clothing line, and became known for a particular kind of style: traditional, Southern-inspired pieces mixed with playful finds you wouldn't see anywhere else.
A New Chapter
In 2026, we're relaunching Little Birdies as an online-first boutique, shipping nationwide from our Northeastern fulfillment center. The storefronts have closed, but the heart of what we built in Georgetown (the curation, the gift-wrapping, the knowing exactly what a new mom actually wants) now travels wherever you are.
Our focus today is on custom baby gift bundles and curated layette sets. You pick the pieces one by one through our Bundle Studio, add a handwritten gift note, and we box it up with a bow and ship it for you. It's perfect for baby showers, new-parent gifts, grandparent thinking-of-you moments, and the hundred other little occasions that call for something more thoughtful than a gift card.
